Cruise to Thirdgen Roundup 2012

Who's going and would be interested in meeting up to cruise to the meet in a group? I told Pancho, from San Antonio, that Brenham looks like a good spot for Austin and San Antonio people to meet. We can probably come up with a North and South Austin meeting point.

Installing 91 Dash in my 84

Hi just found this forum, from a link over on thirdgen.org.

Thought I would stop by and take a look, I love the wiring diagrams you have online!!

Here's my questions.

I have an 84 Camaro, and I'm in the middle of installing a dash from a 91 into it.
I have the dash in, and tonight got the car running, and seeing what works on the dash and what doesn't.

At first the oil and tach didn't work, looking at a pin diagram. I found that one of the pins on the cluster is suppose to be grounded, so I ran a temp wire and those gages work for now. Were are the main ground points for the dash, I heard there are 3?? G200 is one, and I checked that, and it's OK, but not sure where the others are.

The next thing that doesn't work is the fuel gage, it's pegged at full. I put my meter on that pin, and it OL or open. So that's leading me to think that the wire coming from the sending unit isnt' even hooked up to it. Where does that wire come into the car at, and what color is it?

My last question (for now) is when you turn the key on, the 'service engine soon' light should come on right? It not doing that for, actually all the warning lights up in that little area are dark. The warning alarm (headlights left on ect) doesn't work either.

Does anyone have any ideas to any of these?

Thanks
Chris.

3rd gen Camaro rims 125.00

I have a full set of Factory 1991 rims I no longer need. The rims are used, center caps are in excellent condition they were replaced shortly before I purchased the new rims I put on the Camaro. One rim has some curb rash. Over all they are in good condition, they polish up and shine really nice, the finish on the rims is still in great condition. This is a complete set, 2 front offset and two rear offset rims. They come with only one tire mounted on it. a 245/50/16. on one of the rear rims. I’d say it has about 30% tread left or less. It was the drive tire so I was hard on it lol.

Asking 125.00 for the set. I will not sell the rims separately, full set only. call or text if interested. I do not check my email very often so it will be a long time before I respond to an email reply.

Thanks,
Randy Sharp
512 - eight zero 3 - 1 five 6 seven

85 z28 build

Right now the plans are to put this motor (5.3l vortech) in with a z06 cam. I'm going to stay with the auto and do a 4l60e. Later down the road I want to add a turbo and really have some fun. The only part of the swap that I fear is the wiring. I'll be adding to this thread periodically, but I'm limited on funds so it won't be a fast build. I also plan on painting the engine bay and cleaning some stuff up while I have everything removed. If anyone has any suggestions or can help with the wiring part of it feel free to share.

Soda media blasting

I am starting a mobile soda blasting business. If anyone is interested, let me know. This type of blasting is better than sand blasting. It won't pit the metal, glass or chrome. It is easier to clean up, and is better for the environment. I will have the equipment ready to go next month. So, if anyone out there is thinking about painting their car, let me know.

SON OF A BITCH FISH

The parish priest went on a fishing trip. On the last
day of his
trip he hooked a monster fish and proceeded to reel it
in.

The guide, holding a net, yelled, "Look at the size of
that Son of a Bitch!"

"Son, I'm a priest. Your language is uncalled for!"

"No, Father, that's what kind of fish it is - a Son of
a Bitch fish!"

"Really? Well then, help me land this Son of a Bitch!"

Once in the boat, they marveled at the size of the
monster.

"Father, that's the biggest Son of a Bitch I've ever
seen."

"Yes, it is a big Son of a Bitch. What should I do
with it?"

"Why, eat it of course. You've never tasted anything
as good as Son of a Bitch!"

Elated, the priest headed home to the rectory. While
unloading his
gear and his prize catch, Sister Mary
inquired about his trip.

"Take a look at this big Son of a Bitch I caught!"

Sister Mary gasped and clutched her rosary, "Father!"

"It's OK, Sister. That's what kind of fish it is a Son
of a Bitch fish!"

"Oh, well then, what are you going to do with that big
Son of a Bitch?"

Sister Mary informed the priest that the new Bishop
was scheduled to
visit in a few days and that they should fix the Son
of a Bitch for his dinner.

"I'll even clean the Son of a Bitch", she said.

As she was cleaning the huge fish, the Friar walked
in.
"What are you doing Sister?"

"Father wants me to clean this big Son of a Bitch for
the new Bishop's dinner."

"Sister! I'll clean it if you're so upset! Please
watch your language!"

"No, no, no, it's called a Son of a Bitch fish."

"Really? Well, in that case, I'll fix up a great meal
to go with it,
and that Son of a Bitch can be the main course! Let me
know when
you've finished
cleaning that Son of a Bitch."

On the night of the new Bishop's visit, everything was
perfect. The Friar had
prepared an excellent meal. The wine was fine, and the
fish was excellent. The
new Bishop said, "This is great fish, where did you
get it?"

"I caught that Son of a Bitch!" proclaimed the proud
priest.

"And I cleaned the Son of a Bitch!" exclaimed the
Sister.

The Friar added, "And I prepared the Son of a Bitch,
using a special recipe!"

The new Bishop looked around at each of them. A big
smile crept
across his face as he said,

"You fuckers are my kind of people!"
