When I go to pick up Kitt, I'm gonna swing by Best Buy and pick up a new CD player too. I saw one that I like. It plays the normal CD, CDR/RW, MP3, WMA, and it also plays DVD's.
Now, eventually I'd like to get my version of the Kitt dash with an LCD screen in it. I was thinking of getting the player, and then later on get the dash and screen and such.
So is JVC a good brand? I know that Jensen is crap now. I want a quality player.

I installed a JVC in my mom's car, it still works fine. The sound quality wasnt that great, but she was also using stock speakers so I dont know.

I prefer Pioneer myself.

Don't know much about JVC (except that it's not a bad brand) but speakers do make a difference. I speak from my own experience.

Well the one I'm looking at costs aroundf $250, so I assume it's in their upper range.

Kenwood are good as well, looks like a decent deck.

And BG is right, if you like it, and the price is fair to you, go for it

I want to get a receiver with a 7 inch screen w/ DVD and navigation

Shall we make it a road trip? Wanna have a mass cruise to Canyon Lake to pick Kitt up next Saturday? The first stop I'm gonna make in Kitt..besides the gas station, is Fry's or Best Buy to pick up that CD player. Then Sat night, I'm comin' home and wiring up the CD player and the new 'scanner'!!!

Are you sure you want a $250 deck? You'd be much better off getting one with quality parts inside... like $400+

Every deck under $400 has had issues, and crappy features--for me... maybe you'll get lucky.

i havnt had any problems with mine...and the one i had before was only 100 and it lasted until i took it out....but your right you wont always get all the features you need. But the new one i bought is perfect for what i need.
