Hereís the plan:

We are very excited to announce that this yearís Roundup will be held North of Houston, Tx, right on Lake Conroe. We are partnering with Thirdgen Nation (Houston Areaís new Thirdgen group) to bring to you the best roundup yet!

Date: Saturday, June 2nd, 2012
Time 11:00 to 4PM (or later if you are having a great time)
Place: Papaís on the Lake - Mongomery, TX
Visit their website to see how cool this place is:
http://www.papasonthelake.com/

Thatís the basic details, put it on your calendars and subscribe to this thread for upcoming details about The Car show the Third Gen Nation guys are planning, and other activities for the day. I bet we can get a great photoshoot going with the beautiful Lake Conroe as a backdrop!

Iíll keep a list on this thread of people who say they are coming so we have an idea of how many we will have. I would suggest getting there early to get a good parking space.

Hope to see you all there!

there are three rules that go along with our meet this year at the new location.

1. PARKING we are only allowed to park on the grass. the grass will be thirdgen only parking since we need all the space allowed. the parking lot is off limits to the car show as it fills up with customers. if you show up in something else and we take a couple a spots i dont think they will mind.

2. ATTITUDE i am going to quote the owner and manager of the location--be grown up and dont start ****. literally!!!

3. FOOD AND DRINK we are not allowed to bring food and drink to the location. we have to buy from the location. i dont think he cares about bottled water. but the rest he does. sounds fair to me.

the rules are very simple and should be able to be followed very easily.

at the location there is a swimming pool and lake access. at both ends of the grassy parking there are shade trees that provide shade.

hope to see you all there.

Let's take a ballpark poll for the Austin group.
- Who's going for sure?
- Who will be going if their car is ready?
- Who will not be going for sure?

Yup, a big sign that the club is shrinking and many people are moving on with their lives, from fixing their Chevy daily to driving more reliable vehicles too. smile.gif
The reason we saw bigger attendance from ATGO in the past was the nearby location.

Not for the 2011 roundup. Austin had the smallest attendance and it was in our backyard. Guess I will go and tow my thirdgen if I have to!!!!

As I said before, we are a small club. We barely have 10 active members.

Austin is not as redneck as many think. And of course Austinites are spoiled, they won't drive in the scorching June heat without A/C for 3 hours to an event that promises even more sun. Remember, us Austinites, we're not real Texans. We're usually immigrants from other states or countries. smile.gif

Shhhhhhhh! Don't let them know where you're from. Then they will start calling us Euro Trash ... which they consider equal to white trash ... though which would explain why we drive turdgens in the first place. lol.gif

You took it out of context. I said "Us Austinites". You're not one of us. :-P Or we're not one of y'all. Works both ways. wink.gif

well maybe one day we can make to where all will want to come. but i suppose we will have to find a location where the most will come to. texas is huge. so not everyone is going to be ok with just one place. that would take a lot. any farther one placeor the other will count out one or the other. we can move it farther south then north wont come. move it north and south wont come. same for east or west. so to put it in perspective there will be no one place where all will show up. so to me the best place is where the most will show up.

You want even funnier for asking them to drive in the heat, just ask them to drive on roads if ice is reported ANYWHERE near Austin! LOL

I just figured that since North Austin is pretty equal to DFW & Houston yet far from El Paso. Move it West of Austin, not East, and we could help to include El Paso.
