Got a coolant leak in the Red Formula...that was all I needed to get started....

Pulled the BMR strut brace, pulled the Mass air and started pulling runner bolts. Time to put that 383 where it belongs. (It's been on the stand too long anyway!)

I was just thinking I should start taking some!

How close is your red project to running?

I like the way your thinking, we could always use more posters!

Mine is pretty much like you last saw it, motor sitting below the car. I'm waiting on two parts, clutch master cyl and headers, both much easier to install while the motor is on the ground.

Someone is supposed to be giving me a clutch master for free, but im about to just buy one. And the headers are 650 bucks, so I might talk to some places here in town to see if I can have them made for less.

Well, just about everything on top of the engine is disconnected other than the power steering.

Underneath, I have to start doing everything(doesn't look like all that much), and there are one or two sensors on th passenger side of the block under the exhaust manifold and I am ready to go.

Still need to order the lower intake manifold, runners, and headers (using edlebrock for all) and get a bunch of misc parts to the chrome plate shop........

Got the power steering disconnected and the hood off. I just have the bottom stuff to disconnect and I am ready to pull. Maybe another 3 hours or so?

I am thinking of changing the intake now - i was going to get the edlebrock lower and runners with my stock plenum (ported though)

BUT - I have fallen in lust with the TPIS mini-ram. It's only a few bucks more and seems to give some major HP increases. Anyone have experience with one? Seems to be the way to go with the 383!

I didn't know that I had to dump the EGR...that sucks. I really don't want to mess with the emissions stuff.....

No, it's not. The only emissions legal intakes are the aftermarket TPI setups, e.g. Accel SuperRam and StreetRam(TPI), Edelbrock TPI, TPIS BigMouth, SDPC Vortec TPI, etc.

Ummm, I want to pass inspection so I can drive my car on the road, not just watch it sit in the driveway.
