When I took the transmission pan off, there was lots of sealant on it. The bolts were actually loose which would explain the leaks.

Installed new tranny filter with the new gasket. Two more things about the tranny: the shifter lever nut was so loose that I would have lost it a few miles down the road and the transmission mount wasn't even bolted to the transmission!!!! As I said, the
