I cut off one loop of the top of the front springs. That translates to about 1" of vertical difference. Once compressed by the weight of the car, it could be cca 3/4".

After pressure washing and scrubbing all the parts, I painted them with one coat of primer, two coats of black glossy paint and at least one coat of black poly protective paint.

The crossmember was also dirty and scratched up as hell so we put the front end on a jack and rolled it out of the garage to pressure wash it in the driveway.
